"What do Kraftwerk, The Scorpions, Nena, Alphaville, Snap!, Enigma, Tokio Hotel and Cascada have in common? They all come from Germany, and their music has made it to the top of the global charts."
With a new program called "German Beats" Deutsche Welle TV, the worldwide German TV broadcaster, introduces a new music show concept showcasing the most popular music made in Germany. Never before has German pop music’s international success been so extensively researched and analyzed. Divided into 14 parts every week, there’s a special focus, starting with "The Top Ten Single Hits From Germany," followed for instance by "The Top Ten Music Acts of the 1970s From Germany", "The Top Ten Electronic and Dance Acts From Germany", as well as "The Top Ten One Hit Wonders From Germany." Together with music expert Volkmar Kramarz German Beats presenter Max Hofmann welcomes high-profile guests.
Amongst others Michael Cretu has been invited for "The Top Ten Albums from Germany" program to talk about Enigma being responsible for the most successful album release from Germany ever!
