his page is not intended as a biography or a discography of Michael Cretu and his works
respectively. Although several attempts already exist on the Web, none is complete and understandably
so given the long career of this composer, producer, musician, and singer as well as the diverse and
prolific nature of his work. This page is a humble effort to present a sequence of his productions
and collaborations in order to cast some light on the evolution of the music of Michael Cretu.
An understanding of the past of Cretu's career may never affect the joy and sensation the audiences
around the Globe derive from his current and continuously successful project: Enigma; however, such
understanding may clarify the elements of creativity that set Enigma apart from all other types of music.
The articulation of a million elements into a composition will always have the impact and beauty of an
extraterrestrial object landing upon the landscape of modern music. Enigma as a work of art is much
more than the simple summation of its identifiable constituents.
That said, those constituents have brewed in the mind of a young musician over the years, barely
traceable at times and clearer at others throughout a career that spanned over quarter of a century.
