Frank Farian
On Boney M's 1979 album "Oceans of Fantasy", Michael Cretu did arrangements as well and one of the songs on the album - "Hold On I'm Coming" - featured Precious Wilson, the lead singer from the group Eruption. Frank Farian also produced Eruption ; and Michael Cretu produced "We Are on the Race Track" around the same time. In 1994 BMG Ariola Boney M - Oceans of Fantasy released a Gold Collection of Eruption's best tunes that contained the track produced by Cretu. A bootleg of greatest hits by Eruption also exists by the name "I Can't Stand the Rain" (74321 24930 2 PC 200), 1996 credited as made in the USA on First Town Records. Precious Wilson covered such standard soul and disco classics as "Car Wash" by Rose Royce,"Le Freak" by Chic, "Respect" by Aretha Franklin, and "Killing Me Softly" by Roberta Flack.

Still in 1979, Michael Cretu co-wrote, produced and released his first solo effort, the LP "Moon, Light & Flowers" ( on Polygram Records ), also credited to Deutsche Grammophon, Hamburg. The album was co-written with Dylan Cross, and co-produced with Michael Th. Omilian and arranged by Michael Cretu. Some of the names contributing to the LP would later continue to appear on several projects involving Michael Cretu :

In an interview she had given to the German magazine Bravo, Sandra recounted how she met Cretu as he toured as a keyboard player with her girl-group Arabesque - ( source: The Voice of Enigma web page ) and that would probably be between 1981 - 1982 At the time he had already produced "Moon, Light & Flowers" and "Der Kafe ist Fertig" by Peter Cornelius.

Michael Cretu ~ "the best thing about the internet is that with all the nonsense people write about every day, you don't have to kill as many trees these days anymore."
