Boney M started in
1976 with the album "Take the Heat off Me" with no recorded
credit for Cretu.
However, Michael Cretu's name appears for the first time in
the credits for the 1978 release "Night
Flight to Venus".
The team involved in the production of
Boney M included names
that were going to accompany the work of Michael Cretu for
years and to the present-time.
One name is Mats Bjorklund, a musician and songwriter
who was involved in the production of groups such as
La Bionda
( hits include "Sand Storm", "Deserts of Mars", and
"High Energy" - CD released by BMG Ariola, 1994 74321 18171 2 );
Arabesque as Bjorklund co-wrote the hit "Zanzibar"
from their 1982 LP "Arabesque VII Why No Reply"
( this album was only released in Russia on a limited legality CD by label
Dark Star's Music For a While in 1997 in
digipak format and Jewel - case MFW C06 ).
Another production involving Bjorklund was
Dee D. Jackson whom we shall discuss a bit later in 1988. Another member of the
Far Corporation who was to work later on some of
Sandra's albums was
Curt Cress ( he was credited for "additional electronic
percussion") on "Everlasting Love".
Peter Weihe, another member of the
Boney M
production team, played guitar on several projects produced by
Michael Cretu such as
HUBERT KaH's album "Sound of My Heart".
Dietmar Kawohl was involved in
HUBERT KaH's
1986 album "Tensongs" and later
the self titled album in 1996 and mainly as a
songwriter.|
